No more MISTIFANS

Well today has been an eye opener. Let me start out by saying I love my MISTI. This morning the members of the MISTFans Facebook group, and other facebook groups were threatened with legal action, by MISTI inventor Iliana, if we did not shut down our group. She felt our group, and others like it, were saying bad things about her and/or the MISTI. This was just not true we all loved our MISTIs. So we shut down our group and moved over to another group we named Stamping Enablers. See button on the right.
I was very shocked that this was happening. Most companies like Facebook Fan groups. We promoted the MISTI  and I can assure you Many MISTIs were sold due to that group. Now many MISTIs that were to be purchased will not be bought due to the inventors actions of today.
I just find it sad that a great product is being overshadowed by the inventors mean spiritedness.
I will continue to use my MISTI, until the cracks make it unusable then I will use my recently shipped replacement and I hope the same thing does not happen to it.
I will however not promote the MISTI as recently some requests for replacement due to manufacturers defects were denied.
That is my rant for today

Butterflies!!

That's right!! One of my favorite things ever!!  I have tons of butterfly stamps and this week the Mod Squad Challenge is to use a butterfly is your focal image. Oh and by the way my card got top three in last weeks challenge and I got a blog badge (it's over there on the right side).
So I have had this large butterfly stamp for years, atleast 10 years probably more!! It was wood mounted and I decided to unmount it for use in my MISTI. I stamped it with Memento tuxedo black, colored it with Copics and the brushed  Wink of Stella clear glitter all over it. I stamped a border edge stamp around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by!

STV April Fools Challenges

The Moderators over at Stamp TV have been posting some April Fools Challenges. I decided to do them today while I play with MISTI.

The first challenge posted by Cat was to use 2 of the same shapes on your card. I used Ovals on mine. I used my MISTI to figure out spacing for my ovals, then stamped them twice to get a nice dark image. The same is true for the sentiment and butterfly. I then cut 2 masks for the ovals and used a dotted border stamp to make my background in Kraft.

The next challenge posted by Karen was a color challenge. Your card had to have Blue and orange. For this challenge I used Post It notes to mask off the top and bottom then sponged on stripes of Powder Blue and Sweet Mango. The image of the chairs and sentiments are from By the Sea 2 andwere stamped in Black Onyx.

The third Challenge was posted by Lee and was a sketch challenge. I flipped the sketch upside down to have the circle at the top. I layered the white, kraft and then white banner together then die cut the circle out. I layered this piece on top of a white cardstock base, without glue. The placed them in MISTI, put the stamp over the card where I wanted it, picked it up with the lid of MISTI, removed my top layers and stamped  the grapes from Better with Age on the card base. I then colored my image and put the top on using foam tape for dimension. The sentiment was lined up and stamped in kraft ink. I am submitting this card for the Mod Squad Tic Tac Toe Challenge. This card used the right verticle line including piercing, coloring, and using rhinestones or pearls, I am sure enamel dots count too.

The fourth Challenge posted by Sean is a 1.. 2.. 3.. Challenge in which the card has to be 1 layer, use 2 ink colors and three different stamp sets. My layer is white, the 2 ink colors are Black Onyx and Ocean Mist. To do this card I mapped it out with my MISTI, using a blank piece of paper. I stamped the oval first, masked off the outside, then stamped the silhouette about four times to get a nice dark evenly colored image. Next, I stamped the sentiment, masked the oval and using a dotted stamp from Lots of Dots I stamped it moving it to make the background.

There you have it 4 challenge cards made in one afternoon!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Black and White Wedding

I oops and forgot my niece and nephew had wanted a couple of wedding cards, so this was a quick last minute card set.

So I followed the Mod Squad Challenge for this week called Tic Tac Toe. My line goes diagonal from lower left to upper right and reads Pattern Paper bought or handmade ( I made my, the script background), next is Die Cut or Punch (I die cut my tux and gown), and finally Piercing either hand or die (I used pierced fishtails dies)

I used the bride and groom dies from MFT, script background stamp from MFT, pierced fishtails flags from MFT, and the sentiment is from the Together Forever stamp set from MFT. The brides dress was sprayed with MFT's Shimmer Mist.

I made the cards opposites by switching up the background and fishtail flags!!

I did the insides the same with a black layer to make the sentiment pop out!!

Thank for stopping by and having a look, Hope you have a great day!!

Something Amazing!!

I have to share with you all this amazing new DIY Gel Polish!!  I saw it on Facebook and I had never tried any Gel polish before. I love nail polish but I have never found one that would not chip right off my nails. I have looked at the ones in the drug stores and found it too expensive, plus you needed a base coat, the polish itself  and then a top coat. I admit I was not willing to put that much into doing my nails. Plus, I was not sure I wanted to use a potentially dangerous UV Lamp as I know someone who had melanoma under her thumb nail.  This is exactly why I wanted to try GelMoment. One coat, 60 seconds under an LED Lamp, done. Wow!! Really?? Yes!!  I bought a lamp, polish, cleansers, removers, files and cuticle pusher. I also believe in having all the tools. lol I set up my stuff, pushed back my cuticles, cleansed with a cleanser wipe, applied one coat of polish on my thumb and put it under the light for 60 seconds..Done  I was blown away it was perfectly dry!!! I finished the rest and loved the results!! I also did my toes and change my polish weekly, not because it has chipped or anything, but I want a new color LOL.

I decided to join this company as a distributor, this company is so new I am 1 of only a few people selling this in Nova Scotia. So I wanted to share it with you all. If you want easy quick, durable long lasting Gel polish, feel free to contact me at nurse6b@hotmail.com. If you wan to see more about this product check out my GelMoment website. Thanks for letting me share and I will be back in a while with some more MISTI made cards!!
Have a great Easter Weekend!!
